You know it's good for you. The spoonful is the problem.
Someone told you about black seed oil years ago. You bought a bottle, took one spoonful of that bitter, peppery oil, and it has lived at the back of the cupboard ever since.
Black seed oil is pressed from the seeds of Nigella sativa, also called black cumin. It naturally contains thymoquinone, an antioxidant compound, and has been part of daily wellness routines across Africa, the Middle East and South Asia for generations. Taken daily, it gives you antioxidant support.*
Ours is 100% Ethiopian black seed, cold-pressed (pressed without added heat), and sealed in softgels. You get the oil, without the taste on a spoon.

Questions, answered.

Does black seed oil have side effects?
Most people take it without problems. The complaints we see most in reviews of black seed oil are an upset stomach or a seed taste when you burp, mostly when it's taken on an empty stomach. Take 2 softgels daily with food and don't take more than the serving on the pouch. In a study where healthy adults took 5 mL of black seed oil a day (about five times our serving) for 8 weeks, no side effects were reported. If you're allergic to black seed, don't take it.
Can I take it with my medication?
Ask your doctor or pharmacist first. In a small study, black seed slowed how the liver broke down a test medicine, and in another, blood pressure went down in healthy adults taking black seed oil. That matters if you take blood pressure or blood sugar medication, or any prescription medicine. If you have surgery planned, tell your doctor you take it.
How much thymoquinone is in it?
We don't print a thymoquinone percentage on this pouch, so we won't promise one here. Black seed oil naturally contains thymoquinone, and the amount varies a lot between products: a lab check of 11 store-bought oils and capsules found more than a 260-fold difference. What we can tell you: 100% Ethiopian black seed, cold-pressed, 1000 mg of oil per serving.
Will I taste it?
No spoonful, no dropper: the oil is sealed inside the softgel. Take it with a meal. A few people notice a faint seed taste if they burp, mostly on an empty stomach.
Why 2 softgels?
One serving is 2 softgels, which together hold 1,000 mg of Ethiopian black seed oil. A pouch of 60 softgels is 30 servings. Take 2 softgels daily with food.
What does cold-pressed mean?
The seed is pressed to release the oil without adding heat. Ours is 100% Ethiopian black seed, as stated on the pouch.
Is this for me?
It's for adults who want a simple daily black seed oil. It isn't for children. If you're pregnant, trying to get pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your doctor before you take it.
When should I take it?
Take 2 softgels daily with food, at any meal. Breakfast or dinner both work; the same meal every day makes it easy to remember.
How do I store it?
Store it in a cool, dry place away from sunlight. Don't use it if the safety seal is broken or missing.
How does subscribe & save work?
You pay $23.99 a pouch instead of $29.99 (20% off), and a new pouch ships every 4 weeks with free shipping. Skip a delivery or cancel anytime.
What if it's not for me?
Take it for up to 90 days. If it isn't for you, tell us within 90 days of delivery and get every dollar back.
The science, with the fine print.
Each row shows the dose, the form and the people studied. These studies used black seed in other forms and amounts, not our softgel.

Dose and conditions: 52 healthy volunteers aged 18-25 (48 men); 0.5, 1 or 2 g of powdered seed a day, or placebo, for 4 weeks.
Worth knowing: The rise was gone at 2 g, the other markers didn't change, and this was powdered seed, not oil.
Dose and conditions: Umbrella review of 7 meta-analyses of clinical trials; different forms and doses, many in people with health conditions.
Worth knowing: An earlier review of 5 trials saw SOD rise, but no significant change in MDA or total antioxidant capacity (Ardiana et al., 2020).
Dose and conditions: 70 healthy adults aged 34-63; 5 mL of black seed oil a day, or placebo, for 8 weeks.
Worth knowing: That's about five times our serving, as liquid oil. Blood pressure readings also changed, so check with your doctor if you take medication.
Dose and conditions: 70 healthy adults; 200 mg a day of a black seed oil extract with 5% thymoquinone, for 90 days.
Worth knowing: A patented extract, studied with its maker; ours is cold-pressed oil without a stated thymoquinone level.

Vitasy softgelsA note from Vitasy.

"Black seed oil has a reputation, and a lot of brands sell it with promises no study backs up. We kept it simple: 100% Ethiopian black seed, cold-pressed, 1000 mg in 2 softgels, so you get the oil without the spoonful. We won't print a thymoquinone number we haven't measured, and we won't promise miracles. Take it for 90 days. If it isn't for you, every dollar back."
